Better Breeding Today

The origins of Hendrix Genetics began in 1923 on a small farm in Ospel, The Netherlands. The Saazehof farm was built by Thijs Hendrix Sr. where the family raised laying hens. Over the next 82 years, generations of the Hendrix family, along with key partners, built what is now known as Hendrix Genetics, established in 2005.

The organization has experienced tremendous growth and success through organic growth, acquisitions and mergers. Every genetic brand and distributor that has become a part of Hendrix Genetics has contributed their best values and rich history. Since the beginning, breeding has been a core of what we do. Steady investment in R&D and selection technology has led to impressive leaps in the efficiency and productivity of our laying hens.

Today, Hendrix Genetics has a global presence with over 3400 employees, and through it all, it has remained a family run and owned company. We strongly believe that we must embrace our past to catch the future.

Brighter Life Tomorrow

The nature of poultry breeding means that we are always looking ahead at the next generation. To prepare for a sustainable future, we are committed to set the standard for sustainable animal production and to deliver high quality protein for the rest of the value chain. We select laying hens that are healthy, efficient, and thrive in all poultry housing systems, including cage-free. The final products that are produced by the Hendrix Genetics laying hens are eggs, a protein source that is highly nutritious, healthy, affordable, and creates a low carbon footprint.

The health benefits of chicken eggs are numerous:

  • Eggs are rich in many important nutrients, including all essential amino acids, choline, B vitamins, vitamin A, and iron
  • Eggs are low in carbohydrates and contain about 12 grams of protein and lipids per 100 gram, most of which are monounsaturated
  • Eggs are a nutritious inclusion in the diets of people of all ages and health needs
